Violin, viola and cello lessons for children age 3 - 18

"Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens. If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart."

Shin’ichi Suzuki

When parents help, our school thrives.

Are you an event planner?  A graphic designer?  Do you know how to build a database, or cater a gala?  As a cooperative school, we depend on parents to contribute their special skills through volunteerism.  Parents can help by serving on the Board of Directors, acting as class coordinators, or pitching in at fundraisers throughout the year.

With everyone helping out a little bit, our school can be a stronger, more collaborative community.  Please fill out the form below to let us know how you’d like to get involved.

We work hard to keep tuition low.  You can help.

Tuition at HRSM, recognized as one of the best Suzuki programs in the region, remains slightly lower than other local string programs in part because we are a cooperative school.  Tuition covers our basic costs, but we must also raise funds throughout the year to pay for certain program enhancements, such as:

  • an accompanist for recitals and rehearsals
  • professional development for teachers
  • rental of performance space
  • updated office equipment
  • classroom supplies

If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution to the school to help us defray some of these costs, please write a check to Hudson River School of Music and send it to HRSM, c/o Scott Zaluda, Board President, Aldersgate Church, 600 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, NY 10522-1139.

Donate in the name of a favorite teacher

One of the most meaningful gifts you can give HRSM is a tax-deductible donation made in honor of a specific teacher.  For more information, please fill out the form below and we’ll contact you.
